Blog engine is live!

Good morning all,

I was up early hacking away at adding a blog to this site, fortunately I’m a software developer and can borrow code from the web. I initially tried a small repository that someone left dormant, it seemed promising but it did not pan out. I’ve decided to implement a Content Management System (CMS) called Piranha CMS to make this blog happen. It’s not as lightweight as the mini-blog engine, but way more powerful. As the days go on, this blog will be updated with means to have discussions or become more learned in technical means to create a chain of trust online.

I’ve been speaking with friend and family nearby, trying to make sure they’re comfortable with what they’re reading online. This is an important aspect to this movement as it ensures no one is left behind. I really think we need a strong technical solution to trust as the internet doesn’t have it baked into the OSI layers I’m learning about Hyperledger Indy , and I will be setting up the infrastructure to host Indy, but we need people around this to facilitate a trust chain. If you’re interested in some learning material around Hyperledger Indy, the Linux Foundation has a $0, 15-20 hrs self-directed course ==> HERE . These chains of trusts are meant for business to business transactions, but I think we the people need this technology as well to know we’re not being fed misinformation.

In speaking with a friend today, she mentioned she’s scared of this messaging that she should fear social media. We discussed at length some of the pitfalls I see in society, but this is not meant to be scary but more of a road sign showing a potential pothole. It’s meant to help resonate within ones psyche and just be a nagging thought if the social media that is making them feel a way, is making them feel the right way. I think I’m trying to distill the “fear of God™” into my messaging so it doesn’t fall on deaf ears. So, I’m uncertain if it’s me trying to distill this fear (ie. using imagery of WHIMIS symbols for the header of the site) or if she has an understanding that she might not be able to look at her socials the same again. In any case I appreciate discussing this, I see it as sewing some seeds so future generations can have shade.
